Cirque Du Soleil: Banana Shpeel
Best show ever! Well, almost. Last night I got on the bus and headed to Toronto and the Canon Theater to watch my second Cirque Du Soleil performance. My first was oVo, which was a little more exciting than Banana Shpeel. Maybe because it was my first show, but also, oVo had tons of simulated flying, trapeze artists, and all around "in-the-air" tricks. This one, Banana Shpeel, had no flying what-so-ever. It costs huge amounts of money to add flying to a show, with equipment and insurance. But even still, Banana Shpeel was an incredible show, and one that I would recommend! It featured classic mime, contortion, balancing, and clown acts. I must say, I did like how it really felt like an old school, original circus, if that makes any sense. At some parts, the show got a bit slow and repetitive, but that aside, it was perfect!
